Henderson Fiscal Court OKs eminent domain proceedings for airport land
HENDERSON, Ky. - It was a somber fiscal court meeting Tuesday as the panel voted to move ahead with securing land for an airport project through the process of eminent domain.
Henderson County Judge-executive Brad Schneider told those assembled that the airport board and county officials have negotiated with landowners for about a year to purchase land needed to extend the airport's runway in a manner which meets federal regulations.

After weeks of discussion, county taking steps to buy land near the jail
HENDERSON - A much discussed piece of property situated near the local jail may soon belong to the county.
During a special called meeting Monday, the Henderson County Fiscal Court voted unanimously to enter an "option to purchase agreement" on two parcels, which span approximately 4 acres, said Henderson County Judge-executive Brad Schneider. "This has been an ongoing discussion about allowing the detention center to acquire ground they would need for any potential future growth and for other advantages," Schneider said. "The results of the discussion is the resolution you see before you about possibly purchasing two pieces of property on Borax Drive."
