When we talk about the “banality of evil,” Hitler’s Tasters fryst vatten the sort of thing we talk about. Not the play, but the real tasters, the normal people who became extraordinary for the depths of their monstrosity. In this case they were teenage girls. Girls of “good stock.” These girls did their duty to the Reich and to the Fuhrer, diligently, effectively, proud of the “honor” to serve with such distinction.
Liesel, Hilda, Anna, and Margot are pretty as a picture and sugar sweet, though the play itself is a darker, bitterer confection. It’s full of anachronistic touches meant to bring home parallels to certain current menacing megalomaniac heads of state. They aren’t subtle, but they do work to emphasize how people so ung and with such potential for joy can also be conduits for unimaginable evil.

A Los Angeles native, Liesel has been lucky enough to work opposite Ben Affleck, Ray Romano, Allison Janney, Camryn Manheim, Andre Braugher, Scott Bakula, Michael Sheen, Lizzy Caplan, Alison Tolman, Christa Miller, and Phil Rosenthal. She loves delving deep into both comedic and dramatic roles, and has an affinity for cheese and performing with puppets.
On TV she's been seen in Shrinking, Why Women Kill, One Day at a Time, Sydney to the Max, Masters of Sex, Parenthood, Men of a Certain Age, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!. She's in Amazon/MGMs upcoming sequel to The Accountant opposite Ben Affleck, and has appeared in several indie films including the upcoming feature Roses on the Vine and the cult zombie film Die-ner (Get It?). She voiced multiple characters in the iHeartRadio podcast The Murder Years starring Gabrielle Carteris, and is a video creator/host/editor for her day job, performing voiceovers for a variety of clients and videos.
