Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi, while addressing a gathering at a function held here on Thursday to mark the 88th anniversary of the Peshawar attack, said Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali was very brave freedom fighter. He said Garhwali played an important role during the India freedom struggle. Joshi said that Garhwali had struggled against British rule in his life. The Higher Education Minister of State Uttarakhand Dhan Singh Rawat inaugurated the one- day Kranti Diwas observed in the memory of the Peshawar incident legend Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali at Pithsain beneath Thalisain Tehsil in Pauri district on Monday. After garlanding the statue of the legend, Rawat said that the museum named after the legend would come up in Pauri soon and 50 brilliant youths of the State would be given the free coaching under a scheme to be named after Garhwali.
He further said that after the completion of the formalities, an army school would be established in the area in the memory of the legend from Garhwal.
