      But seriously….Perhaps if you posted one of his paintings with the blue you are referring to it will help us answer your question.

      The first one, inom find it pretty hard to guess. The whole painting looks mostly opaque, so it could have been Cobalt Blue.

      The second two Chagall examples may have been various thickness of Ultramarine Blue (French).

      Composed of thousands of inlaid chips in over 250 colors,  The Four Seasons (1972) mosaic in Chase Tower Plaza, Chicago, by Marc Chagall (1887-1985) portrays scenes of Chicago. It features Chagall’s modernist art informed by the Russian-Jewish artist’s heritage and images found in his paintings, including birds, fish, flowers, suns and human figures. Chagall observed that “the seasons represent human life, both physical and spiritual, at its different ages.”
