    Bombay High Courton Wednesday suspended the life sentenceof notorious gangster Chhota Rajanin connection with the murder of hotelier Jaya Shetty, granting him bail in the case.

    A division bench comprising Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Prithviraj Chavan directed Rajan to furnish a bond of ₹1 lakh for his release.

    However, Rajan will continue to remain incarcerated due to other ongoing criminal cases.

    In May, a special court had convicted him for Shetty's murder, leading to his life imprisonment. Following this conviction, Rajan appealed to the High Court, seeking to suspend his sentence and obtain interim bail.
