    Honda City fourth-generation sedan unveiled; to be available from January 2014

    NEW DELHI: Japan's HondaMotors Company on Monday launched its fourth-generation City sedanin Delhi as part of a plan to win a bigger share of the country's car market. The diesel and petrol variants of the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder new City will be available in India from January, the company said, without revealing their prices. The new car is expected to be priced competitively as it uses more locally manufactured parts compared with the model it will replace.

    "City has been an image leader for Honda in India since its successful debut in 1998. We have some aggressive plans and high expectation from the new car with the high localisation helping us to carry forward the aggressive pricing," said Hironori Kanayama, president & CEO of Honda Cars India.       RUSSELLS POINT, Ohio -- Following more than $220 million in investments in two Ohio plants over the past two years, Honda on Thursday began mass production of new engines and transmissions for its upcoming 2013 Accord sedan.

      Production of the new Accord starts Monday at Honda's Marysville plant. To get ready, the company's engine plant in Anna started working on four and six-cylinder engines this week and in Russells Point, production of a new, high-tech transmission began Thursday.
