Meyer was born in Brooklyn, New York.
He started his acting career in , starring in the long running soap opera General Hospital. He appeared opposite comedian Kevin Hart in a commercial for the Hyundai Genesis. He has appeared in guest roles in the television shows iZombie, Grimm and Code Black, before appearing in recurring roles in Wayward Pines, The Fosters and The Affair.
